Biography

Dr. Siu is a Fellow of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is a Board Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is one of the very few dual boarded Prosthodontists in both Canada and the US. He is also a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.

Dr. Siu is from Toronto and received his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from McMaster University. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During his time there, he received multiple awards including the Academy of Osseointegration Award for Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry and the E. Howell Smith Award in Prosthetic Dentistry. He was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Honor Society and the Matthew Cryer Honor Society, the highest academic honor awarded to the top ten students in each class.

Dr. Siu is interested in complex and aesthetic cases and decided to pursue a specialty that would allow him to treat patients requiring a reconstructive, implant, and cosmetic procedures. He believes prosthodontics is rewarding because it encompasses all aspects of dentistry and it can have the greatest positive impact on a patient.

Dr. Siu completed a 3-year specialty program in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received extensive training in dental implants, aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. His area of research was in dental implants and restorations in the esthetic zone and his goal was to identify how patients see dental aesthetics differently than dentists. His research was funded by grants from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Northeastern Gnathological Society.
